Trees Next to the Cornfield

I painted this one today. It is a 8 x 10 in. painting in oil. Upstate New York is like this. Enjoy!

Cut Offs 5 x 7 in.

This is a small oil painting I did a while ago, then let it sit around a while, and then came back and finished it.

Walking Up from the Beach

This is a 10 x 9 in. oil painting. My family used to rent a house on the beach and it had a nice deck facing the shore. They don't build houses that close to the shore now days . Our family got to big for this house, and we haven't been there in many years.

9 x 12 oil painting

Finally got back to posting. Here is an oil of my wife walking in the surf early in the morning down in North Carolina. This is a 9 x 12 in. oil on canvas.

This is on a lake in the Adirondacks. I like the birch trees.

I was out in California on route 1. I like this night scene.

This is one to sell. I am sure there are corn fields near light houses.

Well it is the weekend and I've been waiting to get some time to finish off this painting I started last weekend. I was so tired from work I couldn't get to it. I know a violin is playing in the background right now. This is the farm next to the one I walk. There is a foot of snow on the ground right now so it is obvious that I use photos to capture the moment and then use the photos later for painting. This was executed in watercolor. I wanted to do this scene to relay the white clouds in a blue sky over green fields.

Here in central New York there are many days of overcast, so when sunny days like this come along it has an uplifting effect on my spirits. By the way central New York has dairy farms.

I got up at 5:30 (my usual time) and took the dog out for a wiz, and then jumped into painting. The house is quiet at that time of the day, and I can get things done with out any distractions.

Walking the farm

This is a watercolor I did last year in 2006. That day the birch trees in the tree line and the white puffy clouds caught my eye. I remember one time in the dead of winter trying to do a watercolor. The brush kept freezing up. So in the winter I take a photo and paint in the house. This day I was out there on that hill for maybe an hour.

First Post

Hey this is the first post of my blog! Hope I actually have something to say. I plan on doing this blog when I want to talk about watercolors or anything else that pops into my mind while I am writing. Anyway I just looked around on my computer and I can't find a painting to show you right now so you will have to wait. I should have something by the weekend. Come back soon and at least you will have something to look at. Peace
